EXPRESS WASH MAINTENANCE TECH

Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain express car wash equipment and facilities according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes. Their goal is to ensure the Town Pump Express Car Wash facilities and Wash equipment are well-cared for and adequate to support the company's business operations and standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Use and complete daily checklist. Keeps maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of carwash equipment during open hours and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of car wash equipment during service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Check electrical and plumbing systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and building facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use various hand and power tools, welders, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, and defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to the proper supervisor.
  • Work varied hours and will be responsible for working shifts in the wash in addition to occasional after-hours shifts for maintenance.

 

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience in planning maintenance processes.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, electrical systems, troubleshooting, high & low-voltage maintenance repairs, welding, hydraulics, 3-phase wiring, etc.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment with mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities. Ability to work independently without direct daily supervision.
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, and work on your feet for long periods.
  • Perform all work safely according to company requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to travel and work in a flexible work schedule.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and

procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively

before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,

oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in

standardized situations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

This position has an initial 365-day (1 year) probationary period.
